Our Walls

Workshop for a few months at Les Grands Voisins. Elaboration of a wall taken down during its closure, Saint Vincent de Paul, Paris, France.

Hire of a studio for a few months at Les Grands Voisins in Saint-Vincent-de-Paul. This project was carried out in the disused former Sainte-Anne hospital. A wall in the studio, several layers painted over several months, and at the moment when the project closes because a new project is going to be created, the wall is taken down and cut into several paintings.

This disintegration allows several smaller paintings to be created. Symbolism of the walls – what do the walls allow me to experience and move beyond? What can I take with me, what can I leave behind?

Reflection on the work of healing, realising what’s important, what’s not, what do I get back, in these moments of transition when the walls represent stages of life.
